The Advanced Health Care Assistant (HCA) will offer nursing, phlebotomy, administrative and general clinical assistance to the Sexual Health & HIV team. The HCA will liaise closely with and report directly to the Lead Nurses for Sexual Heatlh. The HCA will work under the direct supervision of a first level registered nurse with guidelines and protocols.
- Knowledge of HIV
- To have an appropriate knowledge of HIV, and the treatment and management of this condition.
- To promote a sensitive and caring approach to patient, visitors and colleagues.
- To ensure communications with patients and their relatives are supportive and informative with due regard to confidentiality.
- Refer on to medical team any significant clinical issues
- To be a part of the sexual health care team, providing high quality holistic care to clients accessing sexual health, contraceptive and reproductive healthcare services.
- To provide clinical and clerical support within the sexual health team
